History

I will tell a little bit about coffee's history.

According to Wikipedia, coffee was discovered in Ethiopia in 9th century. Then it spread to Egypt, Yemen, and the Middle-East. From the Middle East, coffee spread to Italy, and then all over Europe. The place where Ethiopian people used for growing coffee is called “Kaffa”. In 1600s, the word “coffee” was adopted into English. The word is from “caffe”, which is an Italian word.

Hi Hisako!

I totally agree with you on the history of coffee as it is believed to be started in Ethiopia, and also beleived to be introduced later to countries beyond Arabia.
In fact, coffee nowadays is grown and enjoyed worldwide, and is one of the few crops that small farmers in third-world countries can export for some profit.

Hello Poeelama,
Yes, coffee is drunk all over the world. And Brazil is the top coffee producing and exporting country, according to Wikipedia.
