Merits and Demerits

Drinking coffee is good for reducing the risk of some serious illnesses, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and heart disease. On the other hand, its caffeine will cause of high blood pressure, acid reflux and unsteady heartbeat. If you drink coffee a cup or two cups a day, you may have those profits. However, if you drink coffee more than three cups, there is the risk of those illnesses because it contains a large amount of caffeine.

Hi Hisako!!

As I have said I always drink four cups of coffee everyday of my life, now I believe this is over the limit, and it is not good for me.

However, this is one of an interesting story from Ethiopia, to support your opinion of two cups of coffee is enough.

According to the story, the effect of coffee bean in behaviour was noticed by a sheep herder as he tended his sheep. He noticed that his sheep became hyperactive after eating the red cherries from a certain plant when they changed pastures.
He tried a few himself, and was soon as overactive as his herd.

From this story I believe that the caffeine in this crop is a bit stronger, which make someone hyperactive as the shepherd.

I think, this should teach me a lesson. What do you think?

Hi Poeelama,
The story of coffee history, some stories say that a goat ate the coffee plant, and some stories say that the sheep ate the coffee plant...
I'm not sure which one is true, but I'm sure that coffee has enough caffeine to make animals (including humans) hyperactive.

Hi Hisako
Drinking coffee is one of the interesting topic which has varieties of opinions. Caffeine, According to many different doctors and their different studies, caffeine addiction is a mental disorder. Researchers have shown that someone who uses caffeine regularly triggers a physical dependence from the body, which is a mild form of addiction. The addiction isn’t the same type of addiction as the addiction that a heroin addict might experience who receives a daily dose of methadone. Some of the different types of side effects that heavy caffeine drinkers get might be that they get headaches or grow irritable. Another thing that might occur for a heave caffeine drinker is that they could feel lethargic when they can’t get the soft drink, coffee, or energy drink that their body is used to having at a certain point in their day. Roland Griffiths is a professor of behavioural biology and neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, and he believes that caffeine should be classified as a definite psychological disorder.
